This kid's something special
Jan 31, 2006

Jamel White saves the Huskers once again. First it was with 28 points OFF THE BENCH in the win over Mizzou. Now it's him tipping in Wes's desperation 3 at the end of the game in Stillwater.
It's amazing to think that the main reason that he came here is because McCray recruited him so hard from his old high school. It becomes even better now that when McCray steps out of the spotlight, the guy that he tried to get on the team is now replacing him.
And above all of that, it's amazing to think that there is stuff like this still floating around the internet. I know that the season isn't over, and we need to be headed in a new direction, but this is at least a start. Maybe a win over Texas in Austin will justify my swaying vote on whether Collier should stay or not.
Another day down, another site up
Jan 30, 2006
The new Husker Home Run Club site is officially up. That's just one more thing to scratch off of the list. I think the only thing that really needs some time working on now is Seward Motor Freight's redesign and a new fresh idea for the studio that Christi works at.
Apparently, the extremely nice board of directors for the HHRC have liked my work enough so far, that they gave me a free ticket to the annual baseball banquet on Friday. Don't worry, I'll be sure to give you all a detailed account of the plans that Coach A has for this upcoming season.
Yes Joe, you can be "stop'd"
Jan 27, 2006
I didn't believe Ben early when he told me that Joe McCray would be off the team by the end of the year. Being the guy who warned me about it, Ben is now the one who told me that it is actually happening. I thought the fight he got in would pass, and the history would be history. After the end of the day, it should be official that: Joe McCray is suspended indefinitely. Apparently "McCray had become such a distraction that the team was unable to focus with him around."It doesn't sound like it will be official until the end of the day when practice is over. But in all actuality, I think most people saw something like this coming, and I really don't see this as hurting the Huskers too much.
Here's the inside scoop where everyone is talking about it.
More sites going up
Jan 23, 2006
I just gave the club baseball site a face lift. Check it out and let me know what you think. It re-routs to my server in my house since the UNL server it's on doesn't support php .... but i'm getting all of that straightened out.
Can't wait for Vista
Jan 18, 2006
I know that Microsoft says it will release Vista at the end of the year, but when was the last time that they actually came out with an OS on time (in all actuality when Vista was supposed to come out last year). I'm getting more and more excited every day. Like yesterday when Andy told me about the cool Sideshow feature that they have:It acts just like a cell phone. There will be a display on top that you can access certain things without kicking your computer out of sleep and opening it up.
Vista also has a pretty cool web site as well.
Movin' on up
Jan 16, 2006
Urban called me tonight an enlightened me to something that I forgot to check today: the AP college basketball poll. Apparently, some team named Nebraska is receiving votes, and is an ISU win at home, and a KU win on the road from breaking into the top 25.
Oh that web design
Jan 13, 2006
Web design is going great right now. Just thought I'd put up some links on the current designs that I'm working on. My main project at Student Involvement is a site called The Big Event. I created a flash banner on the home page:
I'm also finishing up the new Kuhlman Construction site for my aunt and uncle.
And long over due, I'm redesigning the Seward Motor Freight site. This one is not done, and just shows my progress so far.
Who wants to be a .... dumbass?
Jan 12, 2006
I really don't feel like writing a lot for this picture. I'm pretty sure it speaks loud enough for itself. In defense to our great nation, this happened on the show that airs in Britain. Just think of Regis had this happen while he was still there .... we probably would've heard that little half-chuckle-laugh that he always does. Don't even pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about, or haven't heard it .... you know exactly what I'm talking about.
Spending Spree
Jan 11, 2006
If you know me, and you read the title of this blog, you know that this is a rare occurrence. I usually don't spend money on stuff a lot .... but last night was a different story. The night started out with me trying to think of something to make Christi for dinner when she got home from class. Then I remembered that my gracious roommate Ben got me a book that I received earlier for Christmas. Oddly enough for that same Christmas, I received a gift card to Olive Garden, and wouldn't you know it? They are about a mile or two apart from each other.
We first stopped at Barnes and Nobel to exchange the book. After some careful time and consideration, I settled on these:
After this was done, we ate an amazing meal at Olive Garden, and then I thought we needed some entertainment for the evening. We drove over to Best Buy and then I found a ton of 6-10 dollar DVD's:
Some odd random stuff
Jan 9, 2006
I can now put my new Razr phone to good use. It seems that there is a 30 second world's smallest film contest that you are supposed to take on your cell phones. To tell you the truth, I didn't read the whole artice .... ok, I just read the title, and there is no way that I would think something to shoot for 30 seconds.Speaking of my phone. My new covers came in today to protect the screens, and they are amazing!

Google is huge and is only getting bigger. After I missed my opportunity to cash in on it's amazing stock, it seems that Google keeps coming up with bigger and better things these days. What is the next one you might ask? Their very own online video store. That's right. Move over Netflix and Blockbuster, the big boys are in town, and they're ready to play.
Close the 'Book' on OU
Jan 7, 2006
The Husker basketball team pulled off an amazing win tonight at The Bob. Down 10 at the start of the second half, they showed that they are quite an amazing team (at home) and finally have a real shot at tryin' to make a push for the tourney. I know it's early and all, but there are 7 home games left, so if we win 5 or 6 of those, and split the remaining road games (with our first ever Big XII tourney win), you might see Nebraska as a 12 or 13 seed come March ....
AP Blurb:
He [McCray] was on the Big 12's All-Freshman team last season, but he has battled a weight problem and missed some playing time for disciplinary reasons this season.
Me and one other guy caught Joe when he came back down to the court, and let me tell you, he has to be the heaviest point guard EVER at Nebraska!
Deja vu?
Jan 4, 2006
Didn't Lloyd Carr call up Pete Carroll before the game and tell him that Vince heads towards the right side of the end zone at the end of Rose Bowl games?
Either way, and amazing game, and one of the best national championship games of all time. The really good part is that White had an amazing night, and hopefully will go pro so we can stomp all over the Trojans at the beginning of next year.
I'm not sure if it's just me, but I can see some Callahan - Brown Big XII championship showdowns in the coming years as well.
Also, I won the over / under against Ben tonight, and also won another dollar against him (regular wager) because USC didn't end up winning by 14 or more.
v 3.0
Jan 2, 2006
As quickly as it was raised, I razed it, and v 2.0 is no more. It took almost an entire day, but now v 3.0 is up, and looks better than ever. Unless you track my site religiously, which you shouldn't (see ben's blog for more info on obsession), you probably didn't even know that there was a change.I had a wonderful idea on how to use a scrolling flash frame to navigate my site, but then I realized that frames suck. I thought I could get around that by the way I made it, but I was wrong, and it looks much better now.
Let me know what you think of the new layout. Oh yeah, Happy 2006!
