See you in KC
Nov 28, 2006

Zach and I will be in Kansas City for the old traditional NU - OU rivalry. The Husker's are just 4 quarters away from the Nebraska - Boise State match up that I've wanted to see for years.
*On a side note, before the season even started, Drew told me that the greatest story line that could unfold would be for Zac Taylor (from Norman, OK) to knock off Oklahoma for the Big XII championship. Nice prediction Drew. Let's just hope it all plays out how it's supposed to.

A big Happy Birthday goes out to Christi today. Unfortunately, I won't be in Colorado to spend it with her. 3 weeks though .... it'll fly by soon. Here's to you babe. Cheers.

Sweetness wrapped up in 30 seconds. This clip isn't quite as cool, but it should put a smile on your face.
Mo Pure, Bond, and the 'Bird

First off, I never got to talk about the A&M game last weekend. The whole fact that someone threw a landscaping rock through my window pretty much directed my attention elsewhere.Let's look at "the catch:"
He caught the ball with one hand and one finger of the other hand. I noticed this browsing through Scott Bruhn's recap pictures and it's quite amazing. With that, I turned to the DVR to watch the end of the game, and if you watch his left hand, it's pretty amazing that he was able to spring up and get a handle on the ball with someone shoving him in the back.
I didn't see this live of course because I was driving down to Clint's wedding. When Jim said Purify caught the ball, I started to honk my horn and flash my lights out of pure excitement. Right as I did, the 3 cars around me did the exact same thing. Man I'm going to miss Nebraska ....
On to Bond ... we saw Casino Royale on Friday, and it was a very good movie. Too bad it wasn't a good James Bond Movie. Great action throughout, but the whole James Bond feel was never there. No build up on the Aston Martin, no gadgets used .... ever (except a defibrillator, yeah, that gets me pumped up), and a whole bunch of Daniel Craig with no clothes on. I mean a whole bunch. He had his clothes on while the Bond girls (if you will) kept theirs on. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that though ....
All in all, I was actually quite surprised with how well Craig handled the role. Hopefully they'll make another one that's a little better and keep him on board.
Ok, on to the Firebird. Just check the picture below:

I really am going to miss the Firebird. It was a great car to me over the years, but you have to part ways with your vehicle sometime. I'm still happy with the new purchase a few months back. I'm pretty sure the WRX will be able to get Christi and I off to the slopes better than the Firebird would.
Rock beats scissor, window

Well, that's not a fun thing to wake up to. Just a little over 30 days until I move, and with a normal work week, dad was planning on taking the car away last Wednesday. Only if things would've worked out ...
When the officer came, he looked at me as we walked to the car and said, "let me guess, BB gun?" I responded with, "no, just a little bigger than that." He then promptly said, "landscaping rock." Wow, he was dead on. I guess 10-15 cars got hit at 5 a.m. last night.
The window needs to be fixed now and I had so many things to talk about from last night's game. I have a great story about listening to it on the radio on the way to the wedding. I'll post that as soon as we get everything fixed and cleaned up.

Many thanks to the guys at the Daily Slurp for adding my web site to their list. You can find my web site located here.Weddings in Nebraska during the fall
Nov 6, 2006
My coach for my summer baseball team, Clint, is getting married on Saturday. That complicates things during this time of year. Everyone talks about it and it's something that I love about our state: If you plan your wedding on a game day during the Husker football season, you can expect that there will be a lot of people that will go to the game instead of the wedding. It's how our parents were raised, it's how we were raised and it's probably how Christi and I will raise our kids (by that, I mean to schedule their wedding in the spring like we're doing). I know that this probably happens in other states as well, but there is no way that it can compare to how it is here.
Back to Clint, the reception for his wedding is at 6:30 p.m. and the Husker game starts at 2:30 p.m. There is a 1.5 hr distance from here to Wymore. Even with this, I'll show up on time for the wedding. I'll be able to catch the first 3 quarters on TV and then painfully listen to Jim Rose for the end of it.
Cheers Clint. We'll see you Saturday.
If only I had 4k right now

Wow. What a great package. As my time at Sandhills is quickly coming to an end, so is my time with a laptop. I need to look at getting one in the near future and then I stumbled upon the Sony James Bond package. Very sweet package, just too bad they are charging $4000 for about $2400 of product.
I heard there's a big game in Lincoln today as well. Hopefully the Huskers can seal up the north.
