Weddings in Nebraska during the fall

My coach for my summer baseball team, Clint, is getting married on Saturday. That complicates things during this time of year. Everyone talks about it and it's something that I love about our state: If you plan your wedding on a game day during the Husker football season, you can expect that there will be a lot of people that will go to the game instead of the wedding.

It's how our parents were raised, it's how we were raised and it's probably how Christi and I will raise our kids (by that, I mean to schedule their wedding in the spring like we're doing). I know that this probably happens in other states as well, but there is no way that it can compare to how it is here.

Back to Clint, the reception for his wedding is at 6:30 p.m. and the Husker game starts at 2:30 p.m. There is a 1.5 hr distance from here to Wymore. Even with this, I'll show up on time for the wedding. I'll be able to catch the first 3 quarters on TV and then painfully listen to Jim Rose for the end of it.

Cheers Clint. We'll see you Saturday.

Jeff Armour - anything but jim rose, you really will be tortured!
Brian - yeah, i'm really hoping that a&m utilizes their option game, and we run at them like ou did. maybe the combination of the two will enable me to watch the whole thing on tv.

good to hear from ya.
