A little over a month ago I pitched an original idea to SportsCenter. After working on some touchscreen applications over the past year I noticed they really didn't have any automated data to compare "bubble teams" leading up to the tournament so I told them they needed one.

Over the past few years, I've noticed that SportsCenter always puts talent on air just talking about why a team should get into the NCAA Tournament over another team. I felt that if we gave them analytic data that they could more easily make their case.

After helping our stats team launch BPI for ESPN.com, I used this information to build an automated view at taking a deeper dive at comparing resumes between teams. The result? Check for yourself:
