Only in Connecticut?

wiper blades ... up
Not sure if this is a Connecticut thing or an ESPN thing, but each time that we are supposed get snow, everyone puts their windshield wipers up on their cars to avoid the ice.

I've lived in some cold places before and I've never seen this in my life. My thought is that more stuff will just stick to your windshield. Plus, when you scrape your windshield it only takes a couple of extra seconds to clear it off. And if you forget to do that? Then I just pull the "Erich Helge" and roll down my window when I'm on the Interstate and snap the wiper to the windshield when it comes up. If there's a more fun way to get the ice off the wiper blade, I'd like to know it.
